Okay...the rules here are a bit more relaxed than many other forums, but that doesn't mean you can't still be banned. Here are the basic regulations, to make sure that this forum stays sane:

RULE NUMBER 1: NO TROLLING. Nobody, under any circumstances, is to deliberately disrupt the forum by creating hundreds of useless topics, useless posts, whatever. Nothing sends a forum spiraling into chaos faster than trolling. If you are caught trolling, you will be banned. Forever. Instantly.

RULE NUMBER 2: NO INAPPROPRIATE CONDUCT. This site is meant to be civil and child-friendly. Nobody is to post anything pornographic, racist, sexist, homophobic, derogatory to a certain religion, etc. If you are caught posting any of these things, there will be harsh punishments. You will, at the very least, be temporarily banned from the board.

RULE NUMBER 3: NO FLAMING. On no account whatsoever should anyone personally attack or insult another user. There is absolutely no justification for this at all...criticism should always be constructive, and personal insults never solve anything. If you are caught flaming, you will be temporarily banned from the board.

RULE NUMBER 4: NO PLAGIARISM. You do not have a right to claim someone else's work as your own. If you are posting someone else's work, you must have their permission. You should also not create WADs with sprite rips unless due credit is given. If you are caught doing this, the offending work will be removed from the site. Habitual infringement of this rule will lead to a temporary ban.

RULE NUMBER 5: NO BACKSEAT MODERATING. If someone has broken the rules, it is the responsibility of the administrators and the moderators to attend to the problem, not yours. Do not tell anyone that they should be banned, or to get off the site. Also, do not demand that a topic be locked, or demand that a person delete a post. If you are caught doing this, you will be warned to stop. Habitual infringement of this rule may lead to a temporarily ban.

RULE NUMBER 6: MIND FORUM ETIQUETTE. The forum categories are there for a reason. Don't post something in a category that doesn't belong. And do not pointlessly revive old topics, please; it can seriously confuse people.

RULE NUMBER 7: ACCEPT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. This forum is not meant to glorify n00bism...it is supposed to give beginners a chance to practice and gradually improve their wadmaking talents. If politely told how you can improve a WAD or something in the Showoff Gallery, don't just shrug it off or respond angrily. If the other person is not being constructive, the moderators and administrators will take care of it...it isn't for you to decide.

RULE NUMBER 8: HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR YOUR PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENTS. If you are making a WAD and want to share it with the community here, don't announce your project unless you can provide screenshots or a download link in the first post. If you disregard this rule, you risk having your topic locked and removed.

RULE NUMBER 9: DON'T ENGAGE IN BAD BEHAVIOR JUST BECAUSE THERE'S NO SPECIFIC RULE AGAINST IT. If you find yourself looking at the rules to make sure something's not outlawed, you might want to rethink what you're about to do...even if it isn't specifically stated that the action is not allowed. The administrators and moderators reserve the right to do whatever is necessary to make sure that things here don't get crazy, so always use your better judgment.

So, you might be wondering, what can you do here that you can't do on some other forums? Here's a basic overview:

YOU MAY POST RECOLORS AND, TO A LESSER EXTENT, SPRITE RIPS. The point of this site is to be a haven where anyone can post their WADs. HOWEVER, there are still some general guidelines. Posting sprite rips is very limited, and you MUST provide due credit for the sprites you used. Also, there should be SOME level of originality in recolors; don't just turn Sonic red and slow him down. Do SOMETHING to his graphical design.

YOU MAY ASK, "CAN I HAVE THIS WAD?" We understand your desire for certain WADs. Just put your requests into the appropriate forum.

YOU MAY REQUEST WADS. If the creation of a certain WAD is simply beyond your capabilities, we understand that. Just make sure you've tried to do it yourself before asking other people to do the work. Please don't go overboard with this, or we may start locking or deleting your requests.

YOU MAY MAKE FORUM GAMES. It just has to be in the designated forum. Also, don't be mindlessly stupid; your games should be clever and funny.

YOU MAY ASK FOR NETGAMES. Just make sure to put your request in the appropriate forum.

So, just bear all this in mind, and have fun!
